Savar: Robbers looted two warehouses of readymade garments (RMG) factory killing a night guard at Bashundhara in Baipail area of Ashulia in the early hours of Sunday.

The deceased is Abdul Sattar, in his fifties, a resident of Raimpur village in Mahadebpur upazila of Naogaon.

The deceased’s son Amanul Haque said a gang of armed robbers broke open the gate of the two warehouses of businessmen Jahangir and Majibar in Sania Market.

At one stage, the robbers tied up the hands and legs of Sattar and strangulated him to death as he tried to resist them.

Later, they looted valuables worth Tk 20lakh from the warehouse and fled the scene.

The Ashulia police said local people found the body of Sattar lying on the floor of the market on Sunday morning and took him to Enam Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.

A case was filed in this connection.
