Jessore: Former Science and ICT Minister Mostafa Faruk Mohammad, who passed away at a hospital in Dhaka on Wednesday, will be laid to rest at the Mirpur Intellectual Graveyard on Thursday.

This was confirmed by Riaz, a nephew of the deceased.

The body of the former minister was taken to his daughter’s Dhanmondi residence in the morning.

Later, the body will be taken to his Baridhara residence where a namaz‐e‐janaza will be held after Zohr parayer.

His second namaz‐e‐janaza will be held at Sangshad Bhaban after Asr prayer.

Mostafa Faruk, also a former ambassador and Awami League MP from Jessore‐2 constituency, breathed his last at United Hospital at about 7:40pm at the age of 74, said his cousin Nasimul Habib Shipar.

He left behind wife, two daughters and a host of relatives and well‐wishers to mourn his death.

Mostaf Faruk served as the Science and ICT minister during the previous term of the Awami League government.
