Jhalakathi: Three people went missing as a trawler capsized in the Sugondha river in Jhalakathi on Friday morning.

Those missing are—Abdur Razzak, 32, resident of Ichalia village, Taslim Uddin, 50, resident of Hajra Gati village and Alam Jomaddar, 35, resident of Mohodupur village of sadar upazila.

Fire service sources said the trawler carrying 11 passengers sank in the river after being hit by Khulna-bound trawler MV-Madhumati at about 7:00am amid dense fog.

Eight passengers managed to swim ashore while three others went missing.
