BNP plotting to topple Sheikh Hasina: Quader
Dhaka: Awami League (AL) general secretary Obaidul Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, on Friday said Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is out to oust the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from power through conspiracy.
"Although BNP is speaking of democracy they are orchestrating conspiracy to capture power by overthrowing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," he told a view exchange meeting with the Awami Swechchasebak League (ASL) at Awami League President's political office at Dhanmondi in Dhaka.
The ASL organized the meeting to make a success the AL's January 10 public meeting marking Bangabandhu's Homecoming Day.
Chaired by ASL chairman Molla Mohammad Abu Kawsar, the meeting was also addressed, among others, by AL organizing secretary Krishibid AFM Bahauddin Nasim and ASL General Secretary Pankaj Nath MP.
Swechchasebak League central leaders including its thana and ward committee presidents and general secretaries along with presidents and general secretaries of Dhaka city north and south, among others, were present on the occasion.
Quader said the Narayanganj City Corporation polls had proved that it was impossible to oust Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through the election.
