A gas line explosion at a house in Bhagolpur Dakkhin Dariarpur area under Savar upazila of Dhaka on early Saturday killed two and injured five others of family.

Police and hospital sources said the deceased are Rauson Ali, around 55, and his wife Khairunnesa, believed to be 40.

Savar Model Police Station officer-in-charge Kamruzzaman said a gas cylinder at the kitchen of the house went off and caught fire at about 3:30am, leaving the couple dead on the spot and five others injured.

The injured were taken to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar.
