Bhola: Members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police detained a young man from Kheyaghat area in Bhola’s Sadar upazila on Sunday evening on charge of posting cartoon of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Facebook.

The detained is Roman Palowan, believed to be 28, an expatriate of Saudi Arabia, a resident of Chhipli village of the upazila.

DB held Roman in possession of a mobile in the evening, said Bhola DB officer-in-charge Harun-or-Rashid.

Bhola police superintendent Mohammad Maniruzzaman said Roman was detained on charges of posting indecent cartoon about Sheikh Hasina on Facebook.

DB sub-inspector Muhaimunil filed a case under the Information and Communication Technology Act 2006.
