Dhaka: A Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) mobile court on Monday sentenced six brokers to three months’ jail on charges of cheating and harassing people in the name of making passports in the city’s Agargaon Passport office.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-2 led by deputy director Lt Commander Sajjad Hossain along with executive magistrate Md Anisur Rahman conducted a drive at the Agargaon Passport office from 12:30 pm.

During the drive, the elite force detained six brokers-Abdul Malek, Md Nasir, SM Tutul, Md Raju, Md Rana and Md Awlad Hossain. The executive magistrate sentenced the detained brokers to three months in jail each.
