Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has asked all vehicles to avoid some roads surrounding the Suhrawardy Udyan in Dhaka on the Homecoming day of Bangabandhu for smooth holding of Awami League’s rally.

A media release signed by DMP Commissioner Mohammad Asaduzzaman Mia on Monday said vehicles plying from Bijoy Sarani to Fakirapool/UCBL crossing can take Love Road-Moghbazar Flyover-Rajmoni Crossing route, while those going to Bijoy Sarani from Gulistan or Motijheel can ply Nightingale Crossing-Rajmoni Crossing-Moghbazar Flyover-Love Road route.

Vehicles moving to Gulistan/Motijheel/Sadarghat from Gabtoli can take Mirpur Road-Science Lab-New Market-Azimpur-Bakshibazar-Chankharpool-Bangabazar route, while those going to Gabtoli from Gulistan/ Motijheel/Sadarghat can ply Bangabazar-Chankharpool-Bakshibazar-Azimpur-New Market-Science Lab-Mirpur Road route.

People headed to the rally from Bijoy Sarani will take Love Road. Those will have to turn right to Zero Point at Nightingale Restaurant through UBL via Moghbazar flyover, Kakrail Church and Rajmoni.

Transports from Mirpur Road will go to the Suhrawardy Udyan via Russel Square and Science Laboratory. At New Market, the rally-goers will take left to Nilkhet crossing and go to the venue through the Dhaka University.

The street in front of the Registrar Building of the University of Dhaka and a lane of Fuller Road will be kept for car parking.

People from Motijheel, Sayedabad and Sadarghat have been instructed to go to the venue via the High Court Crossing and Doyel Chattar. The parking spaces for the vehicles are Dhaka University Gymnasium Ground or the adjacent street.
