Dhaka: Zia Islam, a senior photo journalist of Bangla daily Prothom Alo, was injured as a private car hit him in front of the Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in Dhaka’s Panthapath area on Monday night.

Zia Islam, in his thirties, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition immediately after the accident.

One of Zia’s colleagues told NTV Online he fall from his motorcycle as a speedy private car hit the vehicle from behind at about 11:00pm, and left him injured.

However, DMCH Emergency Unit’s duty doctor said Zia sustained severe injuries to his head and legs.

DMCH police post sub-inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia said the senior photojournalist was brought to the hospital in critical condition at about 12:00midnight. Later, he was admitted to ICU unit.
