Fugitive war crime accused Razzak held

Habiganj: Police in a drive arrested Abdur Razzak, an absconding accused in a case for crimes against humanity during the War of Independence in 1971, from Atengi Hill area of Moulvibazar on Tuesday morning.
Abdur Razzak, a resident of Hosenpur village under Khagaura union in Baniachang upazila.
The Baniachang police said a team of Baniachang Police Station conducted a drive in the area and arrested Abdur Razzak at about 9:00am.
Earlier, International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) 2 issued an arrest warrant against Abdur Razzak following a petition filed by the prosecution.
Since then, he had remained absconding.
The prosecution on Sunday pressed four charges against Muhibur Rahman and Mujibur Rahman, cousins of Razzak, for their alleged involvement in crimes committed in the district during the War of Independence in 1971.
According to the prosecution, Muhibur is a former and Mujibur is an incumbent chairman of Khagaura union parishad of Baniachang upazila.
