Faridpur: A man was killed as a bus ran over him on the Dhaka-Khulna Highway at Kanaipur area of Sadar upazila in Faridpur on Thursday morning.

The deceased is Ismail Sarder, in his twenties, a Mahendra, utility vehicle used for public transport, driver, a resident of Boroghat village in Chandpur union of Boalmari upazila.

Nizamul Islam, sub-inspector of Karimpur Highway Police, said the Khulna-bound bus ran over Ismail while he was cleaning his vehicle in the area at about 6:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.
