Intelligence surveillance intensifies over militant networks: RAB DG
Dhaka: Director General (DG) of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed on Thursday said they have intensified intelligence surveillance to oversee the activities of the militants and their patrons aimed at rooting out militancy from Bangladesh.
"The neo JMB has lost the capacity of carrying out any large scale attack after the Gulshan caf, attacks as the law enforcers have widened their dragnet against militancy following the 'zero tolerance' policy against any sorts of terrorism," he said while addressing a photo exhibition as the chief guest.
The exhibition titled "The grand alliance government's march towards development and zero tolerance to stamp out militancy" was arranged with collection of photos of Ali Hossain Mintu, a photojournalist of the daily New Age at the Shilpakala Academy here.
JSD (Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal) Chhatra League central committee president Samsul Islam Sumon presided over the function.
"RAB personnel are on hot pursuit to capture the militants and their patrons," he said, adding that none will be pared.
