Comilla: At least six people were killed and fifteen others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch near Jinglatoli Bridge at Daudkandi in Comilla in the early hours of Saturday.

Identities of the victims could not be known immediately.

The Daudkandi Highway police Officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Awal said a Comillla-bound bus from Nilphamari’s Dimla plunged into a ditch as it neared Jiglatoli Bridge at about 5:00am, and left two people died on the spot and nineteen injured.

Four of the injured were died on the way to hospital.

Police and two units of fire fighters recovered the injured and took them to Daudkandi’s Gauripur Hospital.

Four critically injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

However, some of the injured left the hospital after receiving primary treatment.
