Jessore: Three people were killed when a bus collided with a utility vehicle used for public transport at Shantala in Sadar upazila in Jessore on Sunday.

The deceased are Lavlu Dhali, in his thirties, his brother Jakir and Farid Hossain, in his twenties, Nur Mohamamd of Chougachha upazila of Jessore.

The accident took place at about 8:30am when the Chougachha‐bound bus collided with the human hauler carrying 11 passengers while going to Jessore, leaving Jakir dead on the spot and nine passengers of the utility vehicle injured, said police.

The injured were taken to Jessore General Hospital where the doctors declared Lavlu dead, said Ilias Ali, officer‐in‐charge of Sadar Police Station.

Later, Farid Hossain died on way while being taken to Dhaka.

Police seized the bus but could not arrest anyone.
