Barisal: Two women were killed and six others injured in a head‐on collision between a truck and a utility vehicle used for public transpor at Bakultala in Babuganj upazila of Barisal on Monday afternoon.

The deceased are Kanchan Mala, in her fifties, and Shahnaz, around forty years old.

Officer‐in‐charge of Airport Police Station Anwar Hossain said a speeding truck bound to Bakultala collided with the utility vehicle coming from the opposite direction in the area at about 12:00pm, leaving the duo dead on the spot and six others injured.

Of the injured, four were admitted to Barisal Sher‐e‐Bangla Medical College Hospital while two others to Babuganj Upazila Health Complex.
