Narayanganj seven-murder: 26 death row convicts
Dhaka: A Narayanganj court on Monday awarded the death penalty to former Narayanganj councillor Nur Hossain and former commanding officer of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-11 Tareque Sayeed Mohammad and 24 other persons for Narayanganj seven-murder.

16 ex-RAB officials get death penalty for the gruesome murder. The death row convicts include: Sacked commanding officer of RAB-11 Tareque Sayeed Mahmud, Maj Arif Hossain and Lt Commander M Masud Rana, Mukhlesur Rahman, Mohiuddin Munshi, Lans Nayek Hira Miah, Sepoy Abu Tayeb, Asaduzzaman Nur, Purnendu Bala, Arif Hossain, Alamin, Tajul Islam, Enamul, Belal Hossain, Shihab Uddin, Emdadul Haque.
On the other hand, Prime accused Nur Hossain along with his nine cohorts was also awarded death penalty.
The other 9 condemned convicts are Mizanur Rahman Bipu, Selim, Mortaza Zaman Charchil, Ali Ahmed, Abul Bashar, Rohom Ali, Sana Ullah, Shajahan and Jaml Uddin.
9 jailed for 7 to 17 years
The nine convicted are also sacked RAB members or officials.
Of them, Constable Habibur Rahman was awarded 17 years jail term. SIs Abul Kalam Azad and Kamal Hossain, constable Babul Hasan, corporal Mokhlesur Rahamn, Lans corporal Ruhul Amin and Sepoy Nuruzzaman have received 10 years imprisonment each while ASI Bajlur Rahamn and Habildar Nasir Uddin was jailed for seven years.
Amongst the convicted persons, 23 were present during verdict.
