Dhaka: A man and his nephew were killed as truck run over them in front of Chishtia Community Centre at Dholaikhal in Wari on Monday night.

The deceased are Alamgir Hossain, in his forties, a businessman, and his nephew, Abdur Rahim, around 10 years old, a class V student.

Mahbubur Rahman, a relative of the deceased said, Alamgir and Rahim were going to their Gendaria residence from Islampur at about 11:00am, when a truck hit a motorcycle they were riding on and left them critically injured.

Later, they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where physicians declared them dead at about 12:30am.

DMCH police camp in charge Sub inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia said the bodies were kept to the hospital’s morgue for autopsy.
