Man found dead in Tejgaon hotel room

Dhaka: Police recovered body of a fifty-year-old man from a residential hotel at Karwan Bazar in Tejgaon on Monday night.

The deceased is Mir Hossain, said police. According to hotel’s record Mir Hossain is a resident of Jhigatola’s Hatembag road.

Police said the body was recovered from Royal Grand Hotel of Tejgaon at about 10:30pm.

Tejgaon police Sub Inspector Abdur Razzak quoting Royal Grand Hotel authorities said Mir Hossain checked into a hotel’s room on 15 January.

The hotel employees knocked on Mir’s door at about 9:30pm on Monday for dinner, but he did not reponse.

Later, hotel authorities called the Tejgaon police at about 10:00am. A team of Tejgaon Police led by Sub- Inspector (SI) Khurshed Alam went to the spot and recovered the body, said Abdur Razzak.

However, reasons behind the death could not be known immediately. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy, said the SI.
