Dhaka: A teenage boy was stabbed to death over previous enmity at Tejkunipara in the city’s Tejgaon area on Wednesday.

The deceased is Abdul Aziz, 18, a worker of a car workshop in Tejkunipara and son of M Bashir Hossain of Purerpara in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi district.

Aziz along with his family members used to live in rail colony of Tejkunipara, reports UNB.

Sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) said a group of local young boys — Aziz, Rony and Mafizul — had enmity with another group of youths — Saminun, Jewel and Moni.

An altercation took place between Mafizul, a friend of Aziz, and Moni at Tajkunipara Khelagharmath around 2:30 pm as Mafizul allegedly threatened Moni to kill him showing a knife.

At one stage, Moni’s friend Saminun and Jewel appeared there and attempted to attack Mafizil. As Aziz tried to save Mafizul from the attack Saminun chopped Aziz with a knife, leaving him injured.

Injured Aziz was taken to the DMCH where doctors declared him dead at about 3:40pm.

Police arrested five people — Saminun Jewel, Moni, Roni and Mafizul for interrogation.
