Panchagarh: At least six people, including two women and a child, were killed and two others injured when a truck rammed into a human hauler on Panchagarh-Tentulia highway at Charmail in Sadar upazila on Friday.

Two of the deceased were identified as Mostafizur Rahman, driver of the human hauler and Mallika.

Tentulia Police officer-in-charge Abu Haider Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman said the accident took place in the area at about 10:45 am when the Tentulia-bound truck hit the human hauler coming from Jagadal Bazar, leaving six passengers of the human hauler dead on the spot and two others injured.

The injured were rushed to Panchagarh Modern Hospital and then shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

On information, police and a fire service team rushed in and recovered the bodies.

Local people caught the truck driver and handed him over to police. Police seized the truck.
