Savar: An Ansar member died while rescuing an accident victim at Kabirpur on the Nabinagar‐Chandra Highway in Savar upazila, outskirts of Dhaka, on Sunday morning.

The Ansar member is Jahangir Hossain, a resident of village of Hauzibunia. He was appointed on Power Development Board’s power grid company in Ashulia’s Kabirpur.

However, identity of another deceased could not be known immediately.

The Ashulia Police Officer-in-charge Mohsiul Kadir said the first accident took place when a pick-up van hit a bus of ‘Orkit Elegance’ in the morning at Kabirpur.

On the aftermath of the collision, a man fell from the roof of the bus and died on the spot.

Following the incident, an Ansar member went to the spot, unaware of the victim’s death, to rescue the man, when another speeding bus rammed the Ansar member, leaving him dead on the spot.
