Panchagarh: An alleged robber, who was injured in a reported gunfight between his cohorts and police at Magurmari intersection in Tetulia upazila on Monday, died at Rangpur Medical College Hospital on Thursday.

Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Bhajanpur highway police camp, said Delwar Hossain, along with his associates were taking preparation to commit robbery at Magurmari intersection on Monday night.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the gang members opened fire on them, prompting the police personnel to retaliate that triggered a gunfight, leaving Delwar injured with bullets.

He was taken to Panchagarh Modern Hospital from where he was shifted to Rangpur Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated. He succumbed to his injures at the hospital on Thursday morning.
