A village doctor was found slaughtered at Banicho Bazar in Shahrasti upazila of Chandpur on Friday morning.

The deceased is Anwar Ullah Miazi, 60, a resident of Banicho village, reports UNB.

Quoting locals, Mannan, sub-inspector of Shahrasti Police Station, said the village doctor Anwar used to sleep in a room in the market.

Locals spotted his slaughtered body in front of the room while going to mosque for Fazr prayers in the morning.

Later, police recovered the body around 8:00am.

However the reason behind the murder could not be known immediately.
