ICT probe body finalises report against 4 Nertakona war crimes accused
Dhaka: The investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) finalised its report against four war crimes accused of Netrakona, reports UNB.
Mohammad Abdul Hannan Khan, coordinator and chief investigator of the agency, revealed this at a press briefing at its office in the city’s Dhanmondi area on Monday morning.
The accused are Ashok Ali, , Shahnewaz, and two siblings—Mohammad Azizur Rahman, and Mohammad Khalilur Rahman.
Abdul Hannan Khan said Ashok, Shahnewaz and Azizur Rahman are now behind the bars while Khalilur Rahman remained absconding.
The 546-page probe report will be submitted to the tribunal’s prosecutor on Monday, Hannan Khan said.
Khan said the charges ranging from genocide to murder, confinement to torture, kidnapping and arson attack during the Liberation War were finalised.
According to the ICTs investigation agency, the four had allegedly killed 22 people, raped a woman and destroyed 15 houses in Komlakanda and Durgapur uapzila of the district in 1971.
Earlier on April 13 last year, police arrested the tree war crimes accused from Netrakona in connection with a case filed for crimes against humanity during the Liberation War in 1971.
