Savar: At least 30 passengers were injured as a bus overturned on the Dhaka‐Aricha Highway on Wednesday morning.

Officer‐in‐charge of Savar Model Police Station SM Kamruzzaman said the bus of ‘D‐Link Paribahan’ was coming to Dhaka from Dhamrai with around 40 passengers on board.

The bus overturned as the driver lost his control over the steering when it reached Jorpole in Savar upazila, leaving at least 30 passengers of the bus injured, the OC said quoting witnesses.

Later, locals with the help of pedestrians rescued the injured and sent them to several hospitals at Savar and Hemayetpur.

A long tailback was created on the highway following the accident, the OC said.
