Savar: At least three people, including a woman, were killed and twenty-five people were injured as two buses collided head-on in the Maragang area of Ashulia on Thursday morning.

Local people said a Dhaka-bound Eagle Paribahan bus collided head-on with an Ananda Paribahan bus as they neared Marang area on the Abdullahpur-Bipile road at about 8:15am and left three people dead on the spot.

One of the ceased is Mariam, a resident of Comilla, wife of Abdul Malek, while another is the driver of the Eagle Paribahan bus. However, identities of other deceased, a passenger of Eagle Paribahan bus, and injured could not be known immediately.

The Ashulia police Officer-in-charge Mohisinul Kadir said, the injured were taken to local hospitals. Some of the injured are in critical condition.
