Dhaka: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) held 14 members of a fraud gang in Dhaka’s Uttara area on charges of amassing huge amount of money from the people after cloning the cell phone numbers of government officials.

‘We arrested 14 people from different parts of Uttara in an overnight drive on charges of acquiring huge amount of money from the people cloning the mobile phone numbers of government officers,’ said assistant director of RAB legal media wing Senior ASP Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan.

RAB personnel also seized mobile phone sets, huge numbers of SIM cards, laptops, computers and cash money from their possession and identified an apps used in the fraudulence, he added.
