Natore:  A local Awami League leader and a Jubo League activist were killed in a road accident on Natore-Bogra Highway at Singra upazila in Natore on Friday.

The deceased were Shahadat Hossain Bakul, 45, president of Chamari union unit of Awami League and son of Sakhawat Hossain of Chamari area, and Shamsul Islam, a local Jubo League activist.

Sources at Signra Police Station said the accident took place around 9:30pm when a speeding truck hit the motorcycle of Bakul and Shamsul in the Jora Bridge area at about 9:30pm while going to Italy union, leaving them dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue.
