Magura: Police in a drive arrested a fugitive death row convict in the Narayanganj seven‐murder case from Vayna crossing area in Magura town on Sunday morning.

The arrestee—Enamul Kabir, in his forties, a former sergeant of RAB‐11 of Narayanganj, went into hiding during the trial process of the sensational murder case, said the Magura Police Officer-in-charge Ajmol Huda.

Tipped‐off that Enamul, son of Emarat Hossain Mollah of Katuli village in Shalikha upazila, was staying at Vayna crossing in the district town, police conducted a drive there and arrested the death‐row convict around 10:00am, the OC added.

Later, police handed him over to a court.

On 16 January, a Narayanganj court sentenced 26 people, including AL leader and ex‐city councillor Nur Hossain and sacked commanding officer of RAB‐11 Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, to death and nine others to different jail terms in the two cases filed over the seven‐murder incident.
