Dhaka: A woman was murdered in the Nikunja area of Khilkhet, Dhaka on Tuesday.

The deceased is Lima Akhter Mukul, second wife of Rakibul Islam, a lawyer of the Supreme Court.

Khilkhet Police officer-in-charge Nazrul Islam said local people called police as they discovered the body of Lima lying inside her house on the ground floor of House No 24 at Lake Drive Road in Nikunja 1.

Later, police came to the spot, and recovered the blood-stained body.

Police also found a knife beside the body but there was no mark of blood in the knife.

The reason behind the murder could not be identified immediately.
