SSC examinee killed after bumped into lamppost from running bus
Dhaka: A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) candidate of Banani Bidyaniketan was killed after being struck by a lamppost as he leaned his head out of the bus window on his way to the examination centre on Tuesday morning.
The deceased, Sakibul Islam, in his fifteen, is the son of Jahangir Alam. The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue.
Police said Sakibul was travelling to Ramizuddin School, his examination centre, by a Binimoy Paribahan Bus at Amtali area at about 9:15am, when he leaned his head out of the bus window and suffered serious head injury after being hit by a streetlight. Primarily, he was taken to a local hospital. Later, he was shifted to DMCH in critical condition.
However, the physicians declared him dead at about 10:00am.
The Banani Police Sub-inspector (SI) Golam Rabbani said police recovered student ID card, and admit card from the body. The law enforcers called Sakib’s family. They are on their way to the hospital.
