8 arrested over Uttara schoolboy murder
Dhaka: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested eight members of two teenage groups from Uttara in the city on Wednesday morning in the schoolboy Adnan murder case.
The arrestees are the member of 'Disco Boys Group' and 'Big Boss Gang', said sources at the Rab headquarters.
The arrestees are ringleader of 'Disco Boys Group' Shahriar Bin Sattar alias Raihan Ahmed alias Disco Seto, 22, ringleader of 'Big Boss Gang' Md Akhtaruzzaman Chhoton, 19, Md Ramzan Mobarak, 17, Md Selim Khan, 23, Md Ibrahim Hossain alias Sunny, 28, Mizanur Rahman Sumon, 22, and Jahidul Islam Juish, 21.
Adnan, a student of Uttara's Trust School and College and a member of local 'Nine Star Group', came under attack in Uttara on January 6 allegedly by members of Disco Boys Group.
Critically injured, Adnan was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared him dead.
A case was filed with Uttara West Police Station in connection with the incident.
Rab started shadow investigation into the murder alongside police.
Based on secret information, members of Rab-1 carried out a drive in Uttara Sector-14 and arrested the eight suspected gangsters.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees confessed to their involvement in the killing.
