Dhaka: A man suffered burn injuries as a fire broke out at a slum in Tejgaon area of Dhaka on Friday morning.

The injured is Manik, in his thirties.

Local people rescued Manik at about 10:00am, and took him to the Burn Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The fire broke out around 9:15am, said Ziaur Rahman, an operator at the head office of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Around eight firefighting units rushed to the spot to douse the fire. The fire came under control at about 9:35am.

However, the reason behind the fire could not be confirmed immediately.
