Rizvi, Samsuzzaman to be quizzed at jail gate
Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Thursday ordered the investigation officers to interrogate detained BNP joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and BNP chairperson’s adviser Samsuzzaman Dudu at jail gate, after rejecting their petitions for bail and police custody for quizzing in nine cases.
When police produced Dudu and Rizvi in the court, Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Imdadul Haque passed the order after hearing the petitions for bail and custody.
The magistrate directed the IOs to question them at the jail gate within three working days.
Mohammad Sanaullah Miah, lawyer of Rizvi and Dudu, filed the bail petitions in nine cases with the court while police sought custody of 27 days for Rizvi in three cases filed with Paltan and Motijheel police stations and
60 days for Dudu in six cases, also filed with the same police stations.
Police showed Rizvi arrested on 21 May in an arson attack case filed with the Motijheel police station while he was shown arrested on 25 May in two cases filed with Paltan police station for attacking police and vandalism.
