Dhaka: A young man was shot allegedly during a clash between two factions of Awami League at the political office of MP Golam Dastagir in the Purana Paltan area of Dhaka on Monday.

Quoiting its sources at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), news agency UNB reported a meeting was conveyed at the office of Awami League lawmaker from Rupganj of Narayanganj around 5:00pm to settle disputes between two party groups.

At one stage, an altercation took place between the two factions and later they opened fire at each other, leaving Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, 22, a supporter of the lawmaker, injured. He was taken to the DMCH.

Meanwhile, police detained Golam Dastagir’s APS Quamruzzaman for interrogation over the incident.
