Miscreants slit throats of 4

Bandarban: Miscreants slit throats of four members of a Rohingya family at Kyamlong area of Sadar upazila’s Kuhalang union in Bandarban on Thursday night.
The Sadar police said a group of miscreants stormed into Abdul Motaleb’s residence inside a garden, and killed four members of the Rohingya family.
The deceased are Mohammad Amin, in his forties, who was the caretaker of the garden, his elder sister Samira Begum, believed to be 45, and his two children, Ifat Fatema, who is seven years old, and Syed Nur, believed to be 12.
Sadar police officer-in-charge Imtiaz Ahmed said police recovered the bodies of the four from separate places near the house and sent those to Bandarban General Hospital morgue for autopsy at about 7:30am.
The incident came to light on Friday when Luthai, a resident of the area, went to Amin’s house at about 7.00am as Amin had asked him to come to collect some firewood from him, said police.
When Luthai went to the house he found bodies of Amin and three others lying on ground near the house and the garden, police added.
Police said Mohammad Amin’s third wife Hasina Begum and her brother have been absconding since the incident.
Local people also alleged that they had seen brother-in-law of Amin roaming in the area on Thursday afternoon.
Primarily, it has been suspected that, Amin’s wife and brother-in-law might have hacked the four people to death at sometime on Thursday evening over family feud and left the bodies there.
