Barisal: Four workers suffered burn injuries as a fire broke out at the engine room of an oil-laden vessel at Beltala on the River Kirtankhola on Saturday night.
The vessel, ‘MT Anchorage’, was heading towards Barisal from Chittagong with some 10lakh litres of furnace oil on board, according to its crew.
When the vessel reached Beltala, its engine caught fire after a blast around 9:00pm due to technical glitches, the crew said.

Four of its crew, out of 10, sustained burn injures as they were staying in and around the engine room when the incident took place.
The injured—Shahidul, Abu Sufian, Nazmul, and Humayan Kabir—were admitted to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital, said Dr M Shahin, registrar of burn and plastic unit of the hospital.
