Noakhali: Police arrested a youth from Char Mandalia Bazar at Kabirhat upazila in Noakhali on Saturday night for allegedly distorting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s photo and selling those to people.

The arrestee was Emdad Ullah, 32, son of Omar Faruk of Charpata village in Companyganj upazila, and owner of ‘Ma Telecom’ at Chan Mandalia Bazar.

Kabirhat Police Station Officer-in-charge Mirza Md Hasan said Emdad used to make PM’s distorted photo and video in his shop and sell those to people.

On information, police conducted a drive at his shop at night and arrested him.

A case was filed against him under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Act.
