Former Colonel Quader put on police custody over MP Liton killing

Gaibandha: A Gaibandha court on Wednesday placed former Jatiya Party MP of Gaibandha‐1 constituency Abdul Quader Khan on 10‐day police custody for quizzing in a case filed over the killing of lawmaker Manjurul Islam Liton.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Mainul Hasan Yusuf issued the order when sub‐inspector of Sundarganj Police Station, also the Investigation Officer of the case, Abu Haider Moahmmad Ashrafuzzaman produced him before the court seeking a 10‐day custody.
Detectives arrested Dr Abdul Quader Khan from his residence at Rahmannagar Ziladarpara in Bogra district town on Tuesday in connection with the killing of Awami League MP Manjurul Islam Liton from the Gaibandha‐1 constituency.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of Gaibandha with the help of Bogra police arrested the former MP on Tuesday on suspicion that he might have been involved in the killing.
On 15 February, police arrested former MP’s driver Hannan and personal assistant Rashedul Islam Mehedi from Kadamtali, Gaibandha.
