Two ‘drug traders’ killed in ‘gunfight’
Narayanganj: Two alleged drug traders were killed in a ‘gunfight’ with detectives at Fatullah in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
The deceased were Manik alias Killer Manik, 42, and Muktar Hossain alias Mukta, 40, of Pagla Shahi Bazar in the city.
Fatullah Police Station Officer-in-charge Kamal Uddin told news agency UNB that a team of Detective Branch (DB) of police launched a drive at Shahibazar of Fatullah at about 7:00pm to seize a consignment of drugs.
Sensing the presence of the DB team, Manik and Muktar along with their cohorts opened fire at them, prompting the law enforcers to retaliate that triggered a gunfight.
The two alleged drug peddlers were found lying dead on the ground after the gun battle that also left 10 other people, including a policeman, injured, said a spot account of the incident.
