Verdict on Jihad’s death today
Dhaka: The verdict in a case filed over the death of minor boy Jihad in capital Dhaka in 2014 will be delivered on Sunday.
The six accused are Shafiqul Islam alias Abdus Salam, contractor of M/S SR House, Mohammad Jahangir Alam, senior sub assistant engineer (inspector of tube-well division) of Bangladesh Railway (BR), its assistant engineers Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Zafor Ahmmed Shakir, Dipak Kumar Bhowmik and Mohammad Saiful Islam.
On 8 February, Judge M Akhtaruzzaman of the Dhaka Special Court-5 set the date after closing arguments from both sides.
Earlier, on 4 October last year, a court framed charges against six people over the death of Jihad, a four-year-old boy, who died after falling into an abandoned deep tube-well in Shahjahanpur area of city on 26 December, 2014.
Earlier on 7 April, 2016, police submitted the charge-sheet over the death of Jihad.
