Life reaches a standstill in districts: Muhith

Though life in capital Dhaka is almost vibrant, it reaches a standstill in district areas due to the countrywide blockade and hartal imposed by 20-Party Alliance, admitted Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith.
While addressing a news conference at Finance Ministry conference room in Dhaka on Saturday, the minister said: “Foreign aid inflow had been depleted. It was unexpected.”
He blamed political instability and deadly attacks carried out by the opposition platform for the sudden reduction in foreign aid supply.
The minister expressed his hope that life would be normalised by a week.
Finance ministry organised the news conference with a view to present the socio-economic advancement and macroeconomic condition of Bangladesh.
About the 7.3% annual growth target of Gross Domestic Product of the country the minister said the target had been shrouded by uncertainty.
