Police shot man in Dhaka
Dhaka: A young man was injured as police opened fire to him in the East Kadamtoli area of Dhaka in the early hours of Wednesday.
The injured is Mohammad Saidul, in his twenties, member of a robber gang, said police.
The Kadamtoli police Sub-inspector (SI) Mokhlesur Rahman said being tipped of that a group of around 12 robbers were taking preparation for robbery near Priya Cadet School in the area, police went to the spot.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the suspected robbers hurled crude bombs to them. Police also fired back at about 2:45am, which left Saidul injured. However, the other members of the gang managed to flee from the spot.
Primarily, Saidul was taken to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. Later, he was shifted to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.
SI Mokhlesur said Saidul is an enlisted criminal and robber. Police also recovered five crude bombs and drugs from the spot.
