Dhaka: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Thursday asked seven coaching centres to remove their all wall writings and posters from the areas under its jurisdiction by March 12.

The coaching centres are Udvas, Unmesh, Paragon, Oracle, UCC, S@ifur’s and Nasir Sir.

The directives were given during a special drive conducted by the DNCC against illegal graffiti daubed on walls and posters pasted on walls and lampposts in the city’s Farmgate area in the afternoon, said DNCC Public Relations Officer Manzur-e-Mowla.

During the drive, a mobile court fined the seven coaching centres Tk 3.10 lakh for resorting to wall writings and pasting posters violating the Graffiti Writing and Poster Sticking Control Act, 2012.

Of them, Udvas, Unmesh, Paragon and Oracle were fined Tk 50,000 each while UCC and S@ifur’s Tk 40,000 each and Nasir Sir was penalised Tk 30,000 on the charge.

DNCC Chief Waste Management Officer Commodore Abdur Razzak led the drive along with executive magistrate Masum Ali Beg.
