Trader, nephew shot in Dhaka

Dhaka: Miscreants shot a businessman and his nephew at Kadamtali in Dhaka on Friday night.

The injured are Shamsul Haque Fakir, in his fifties, and his nephew, Hafez Mohammad Al Amin. Both of the injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Shahjahan Mia, Shamsul Haque’s brother, told NTV Online Shamsul Haque run several businesses while Al Amin is a student of a local madrassa. They are resident of West Mohammadbag in Kadamtali.

Miscreants opened fire to Shamsul Haque at about 8:30pm, when he along with Amin was returning home after saying their prayer at a nearby mosque. Al Amin also received bullets as he came to save his uncle.

Shahjahan Mia, also Amin’s father, claimed around five people including Belal, Imran, attacked on his brother and son for killing them. He said miscreants planned to kill Shamsul Haque as he restrained them from drugs and criminal activities.

However, the DMCH camp official Sub-inspector (SI) Bacchu Mia said Shamsul Haque received bullets on his chest, while Amin has bullet wound on his legs.
