Dhaka: President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Foreign minister AH Mahmood Ali have expressed their deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family members of the victims as well as all the Saudi brethren for the sad incident of suicide bomb attack outside a mosque in Dammam on Friday.  

In three separate messages, they strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack and prayed to Almighty Allah who gives Saudi brethren the strength and fortitude to win their fight against such heinous crimes, said sources at the Foreign Ministry.  

In his message to custodian of the two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the president said, ‘I’m extremely sorry to learn about the tragic death of three people and the injury of few others by a bomb blast when a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a masque in Dammam. I strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack.’

Condemning the attack, the prime minister in her message said the people of Bangladesh join her in expressing their solidarity in Saudi Arabia’s fight against terrorism in the country and beyond.  

‘I take this opportunity to reiterate that Bangladesh denounces terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and reaffirm our government’s commitment to work together with Saudi Arabia and the world community to fight against this menace,’ she said.  

In his message to Saudi Arabia foreign minister Adel A Al-Jubeir, the Bangladesh foreign minister said it is a matter of great concern and worry that there was another attempt of suicide bomb attack in a mosque in Dammam during the Friday prayer on 29 May which was successfully foiled by the security authority of the Kingdom.  

‘We express our deep condolences and sympathies to the victims who were killed or injured due to the suicide bomb attack,’ he said.

AH Mahmood Ali stressed that any such terrorist activity is a blow against peace, humanity and all religious values.

‘I express my government’s firm determination to continue to work together with Saudi Arabia and the world community to fight against terrorism,’ he added.
