Anti Corruption Commission to grill City Bank director
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) will interrogate Ashfaq Aziz, a City Bank director and son of Partex Group chairman MA Hashem, in a graft case.
The Commission on Sunday sent a notice to Rubel asking him to be present at the ACC head office on March 15, said ACC spokesman Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, reports UNB.
On February 8 last, the national anti-graft agency filed a case with Motijheel Police Station against eight people, including Ashfaq and Shawkat Aziz, another son of MA Hashem, in connection with the allocation of two plots (10 kathas each) of RAJUK to them violating rules.
The other accused in the case are former Rajuk chairman Iqbal Uddin Chowdhury, former Rajuk members SD Foyez, AKM Wahidul Islam, SM Zafar Ullah, HM Jahirul Haque and Md Rezaul Karim Tarafder.
According to the case statement, the former RAJUK chairman and other accused in collusion with each other allocated two plots of RAJUK to Shawkat and Ashfaq during 2001-04 period, violating the rules.
A day after filing the case, an ACC team arrested former secretary and former RAJUK chairman Iqbal Uddin Chowdhury and Shwkat from the city's Gulshan area.
However, Shawkat later secured bail.
