Women In Leadership to celebrate Int’l Women’s Day

Women In Leadership (WIL), a project under Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF), has taken up day-long activities to celebrate the International Women’s Day 2017 through Le Méridien Dhaka Women Leadership Summit 2017.

The celebration will take place on 8 March (Wednesday) at hotel Le Méridien Dhaka. On this occasion, WIL will also publish a special edition of WIL Magazine, a publication catering to different woman issues and launching Leaders of Tomorrow, a campaign for the university students, especially female.

Visual Artist Nazia Andaleeb Preema, Director, Bangladesh Brand Forum (BBF), and President, WIL; Arman Huda, Director of HR, Le Méridien Dhaka; Faria Yasmin, Business Director, ACI Foods Ltd; and Mahzabin Ferdous, Head of Brand and Corporate Communication, IPDC Finance Ltd. spoke to the press about the initiatives. Shariful Islam, Founder and Managing Director, BBF facilitated the press meet.

Le Méridien Dhaka — BBF Women Leadership Summit 2017 is the second edition of the initiative. This year the speakers are lawmaker Dr. Dipu Moni; Nirupama Subramanian, Organisational Change Consultant, IFC-World Bank Group and Leadership Consultant; Ranju Jha Alex, General Manager, JW Marriott Kolkata and Vice President (East), Marriot International; Rubana Huq, Managing Director, Mohammadi Group; Rumana Rahman, Head of HR, British American Tobacco Bangladesh; Shobhaa De, Author, Columnist, and Novelist; and Sonu Grover, Country Manager — Sri Lanka, Coca-Cola India and South West Asia.

3rd edition to the endeavor, Inspiring Women Award 2017 aims at creating role models among the females to inspire them for striving in professional life, says a press release. Previously the award recognised 48 inspiring female leaders in the first & second edition. This year, the award will recognise the contribution of women from different sectors under 14 different categories.

The summit will be attended by the members of Bangladesh Women Professionals Network (BWPN), nominees of Inspiring Women Award 2017 from different organisations and both male and female professionals and activists. The invited guests of the award includes ambassadors of different embassies in Bangladesh, female activists, academicians, politicians, social and media celebrities, high officials from corporate sector and others.
