Child shot dead

Chittagong: A child was shot to death by alleged extortionists at Panchlaish in Chittagong on Tuesday night.
Asadul, who was 11 years old, was a resident of Sarail upazila in Brahmanbaria.
The Panchlaish police said a local group of extortionists, Tempu Bahini, led by Shohag demanded money from local trader Delwar.
However, Delwar denied the money that angered Shohag and his men.
On Tuesday night, Shohag along with his associates went to Mohammadpur area in Panchlaish to kill Delwar.
At a stage, they shot Delwar but the bullet hit his nephew, Asadul, who had gone to his uncle’s house a few days ago, at about 8:20pm, leaving him injured.
Later, Asadul was taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he doctors declared him dead.
A case was filed against four people in this connection.
