Church security guard stabbed in Pabna, 3 held
A security guard of a local Catholic church was stabbed and wounded by some miscreants at Mathurapur Church Gate in Chatmohor upazila in Pabna on early Friday.
The victim was identified as Gilbart Kosta, 65, hailing from Lautia village in the upazila.
Chatmohor Police Station Officer-in-charge SM Ahsan Habib said a group of miscreants swooped on the guard around 2:45am and stabbed him indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
He was taken to Pabna General Hospital with several injury marks, said police, reports UNB.
Quoting the victim, police said he had an altercation with some local youths over a trifling matter.
Police suspected that the guard might have been attacked over the issue.
Meanwhile, police arrested three young men — Rajib Hossain, 18, Murad Hossain, 17 and Farid Hossain, 18, of Lautia village — for their alleged involvement in the attack from the area.
